I just love the idea of a little magic. Anyone who stumbles upon this deviation will be inspired and intrigued by this heartwarming artwork.
The animation runs smoothly. I like the metallic look you've succeeded in this piece. The effect you've created with the glitter seems almost impossible for me to even think about replicating. I have tried animation stamps and I've found that even the simplest of animations are a pain to work with. I have so much respect for you because of this. I can't imagine how much work you must've done on this. It has definitely been worth it in the finished product.
One thing that I would like to focus on is that in the last frame, it seems to just "blink out". Maybe a fade out would make the entire animation much smoother? Just some advice, not to be taken to heart.
AE is easy to get addicted to ! I agree with you, it is one of the coolest programs ever made. I'm really interested in seeing what AE CS5 is like . And there is already SO MUCH to AE !
Ya! I SOOOOOO addicted! It has taken a little bit of mental work to start learning it though. I have been so used to how 3D programs operate that I've really had to kind of forget them for a bit to learn AE. I think I just got used to the way that Max works, so my intuition tells me to approach something one way and with AE it is pretty much always wrong! Such different approaches.
What I don't understand is why aren't there more AE fanatics here on dA? There are SOOOO many 3D artists now - but you almost never hear of AE guys/girls? All I can think about are the infinite ways I can combine 3D and AE!!! And actual footage for that matter! My head can't stop thinking about the possibilities! I just can't figure out why there is such a tiny handful of AE artists here?!!
I'm using CS5 - but I regret to tell you that I don't know enough about the program to be able to tell you the difference from CS4. But one day!
Very cool ! Glad to hear it. No worries about AE CS4 vs. AE CS5, but GREAT to hear you're working with AE CS5! Excellent XD ! There's so much specializing with apps that goes on currently, that users really end-up with barely enough time to keep-up with just one powerful app (Max, Maya, AE, PS, etc.). Even within one app, a lot of people specialize on just one plugin/aspect of the app to keep-up (addiction ).
You may have done this already but, be sure to go to Adobe.com and check out User Groups, then look-up the AE User Group. You should find local AE User Groups (example; I joined the Minnesota AE User Group ). I'm guessing the San Fran AE User Group is huge ! The Adobe User groups can be awesome resources for hooking-up with jobs, tuts, finding answers to problems, etc.

All and all, this piece is simply magical!
